Energy Efficiency
On April 7, 2025, the International Maritime Organization (IMO) commenced the 83rd session of the Marine Environment Protection Committee (MEPC) meeting in London, aiming to finalize new binding regulations with the goal of driving the international shipping industry toward net-zero emissions within the next 25 years.
Mandatory energy efficiency requirements - what ships must do
On 1 January 2023 it became mandatory for all ships to calculate their Energy Efficiency Existing Ship Index (EEXI) and to establish their annual operational carbon intensity indicator (CII) and CII rating. In other words, ships get a rating of their energy efficiency (A, B, C, D, E – where A is the best). A ship running on a low
carbon fuel gets a higher rating than one running on fossil fuel.
Through optimised design, energy-saving effect
could reach 5%~15% by installing the energy-saving devices under the designed ship speed and loading condition.
Our company is currently focusing on research and product development
Adopt CFD (Digital Towing Tank Platform)
Analyze the ship's performance and indices
Formulation of computational analysis reports and solutions optimization solutions
Ship Energy Efficiency Analysis Management System (Green Hub)
Ship hydrodynamic energy saving devices: Hydrodynamic energy saving devices: PFFP, FPHC, RB, HEP
Others: PTO, LED, ORC, Windwing, RS, Windshield, CCUS, AL ...
The following conclusions can be drawn from this experimental research project:

The main engine of this ship has a commonly used continuous power CSR = 9000kW, with a shafting efficiency of 0.98. Under the main engine operating condition considering a 15% wind and wave margin, the power received by the propeller is 7670kW. In the designed draft state, it is predicted that the actual ship speed of this ship using the designed propeller of this project without energy-saving appendages is 14.81kn; when equipped with the pre-install duct designed in this project, the actual ship speed is 14.95kn; when equipped with both the
preinstall duct and the hub cap fin designed in this project, the actual ship speed is 15.04kn.
According to the results of this model test and the numerical evaluation results of the vortex eliminating fin, within the designed draft range of 11-15kn, the energy-saving effect of adding the pre-install duct designed in this project is 2.8-3.1%, and the combined energy-saving effect of adding both the pre-install duct and the hub cap fin designed in this project is 4.8-5.1%. For details, please refer to the test result table.
